My First Speaking Engagement

OMG, it has been so long since I wrote! I have been so busy. I am applying to go back to school, closing my handbag business (I’ll still be doing it as a hobby, but I’m closing full time work on it SO BIG SALE CLICK HERE!), volunteering,  collabing with a fabric designer, working with artist, Marianne DuQuette Cuozo  on the 5th Charity T-shirt benefiting METAvivor and getting ready for my first speaking engagement ever!

A few months ago I was asked by a friend if I could take part in a speaking series, A Healthy You, Inside and Out. The basis of my talk was good things coming from bad.

Ahealthy you inside and out

I was never very good at public speaking and the last time I did a prepared talk was in college. Growing up shy always made it hard for me, but cancer changed my life in so many ways and almost everything has ended in a positive note. So this talk was about 30 minutes! I wasn’t sure if I could do it, but my first draft was so much longer, I was shocked. So a boiled it down to some very important points on how I get passed the negative and get to the positive.

Getting breast cancer, led to me creating my handbag business, which led me to networking, which led to me this speaking engagement. I was at a Crazy Cat Lady Lunch where I met Shelley, who asked me to be a part of the series! Falling into a depression led me to journaling, which led me to volunteering, which led me to apply for my Masters in Clinical Mental health! Yep, I am going to study to become a therapist!

So the basis of my talk was Live Life Now, You Never Know What Will Happen Tomorrow!

I think everyone needs to live this way cancer or no, illness or no!

Live Life Now!!
